Experience Our eBook and Audiobook Download Service with the Digital Bookmobile
Learn how easy it is to download your favorite books and more to your e-reader, smartphone or other portable device when the Digital Bookmobile National Tour stops at the Yorba Linda Library.
The Digital Bookmobile will be in the lower parking lot of the Library on Monday, February 13, 1:00-7:00 p.m. Children and adult readers of all ages can learn how to download free e-books and audiobooks from the library's collection through interactive demonstrations and high-definition instructional videos.
A gadget gallery - featuring an iPod touch, Amazon Kindle, Android tablet, NOOK, Sony Reader, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and more - will give visitors hands-on experience with portable devices that are compatible with the library's downloadable collection.
The Digital Bookmobile is housed inside a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer - a high-tech update of the traditional bookmobile that has served communities for decades. Interactive learning stations will give visitors an opportunity to search the library's digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample e-books and audiobooks.
Library card holders can take advantage of the download service 24/7 through the library's website, where they can choose from the growing audio and e-book collection of bestsellers, new releases, and classics. Many audio titles can also be burned to an audio CD. At the end of the lending period, titles will automatically expire and are returned to the digital collection.
